QuestionI just want to know if there's a particular name of the bells(?) that Suzu uses. Answer

I do believe they were named “Suspended Type Hearing Aid ‘Oto-nari-san’”.

The kanji are 音鳴りさん, a homophonic play on “Mr. Neighbor” (お隣さん), and “Mr. Ringy”.

It seems to be a system that also includes her headphone-like thing.

All 20 slots have been filled and I’ll be sending the order to the shirt maker.

For whoever wasn’t able to put in an order, don’t worry as I’ll be making sure there are a few extra shirts in stock in case anyone wants to pick one up.

Updates to follow once shirts have been made.

QuestionCan I use your translations of the lectures as subs? I've been thinking of subbing the lecture videos so it'd be easier for everyone. Answer

Sure, no problem. Someone else was already making subs for the first video too, though I can’t contact him directly. Posts are just floating around on 4chan somewhere.

Read: Orders are now closed

There seems to be some sort of issue with tumblr’s submissions where a bunch seem to be filtered out automatically for some reason.

You can check the orders I have in the inbox on this page.

If your order isn’t here (which it most likely isn’t), please just send me an e-mail to:

halvanhalev ★ gmail → com

With the particulars:

  • Handle name (however you want me to address you)
  • Number of shirts
  • Sizes for each shirt (in case you’ll be getting some for other people)
  • Country of destination

I’ll update the page ASAP with any orders.

Again, apologies for any inconveniences caused.

Right guys, so I’ve gotten word back from the shirt maker.

The tentative price for the embroidered shirts is 17 USD + shipping worldwide from the Philippines (yes, Philippines).

Based on the number of submissions from people interested, I’ll be making a small production run of 20 shirts for now. I also don’t have the money to have a larger inventory made at once too, so please understand. Student’s budget and all.

Sizes range from Asian S to XXXL (there may be larger sizes, but I haven’t inquired further yet). For Western sizes, simply increase by one size (ergo, a Western M is an Asian L). For comparison, I’m around 5’9 to 5’10, and though rather thin, I take an L size shirt (XL also works for me, but it’s a bit baggy). Note: XXL and XXXL sizes cost an additional dollar.

There are also women’s shirts available for those interested. These have shorter sleeves. They really will feel weird for men, so I wouldn’t suggest that guys wear these. But if you want one, just indicate that you want it for women.

I’ll be taking orders until we hit 20 shirts, or until the third week of January (in which case, I’ll just be making a bunch of medium and [mostly] large-size shirts to fill in the gap).

No payment upfront yet until the shirts are done, though it will be through PayPal - I’ll make a proper page for it then in case there are some leftover shirts in the inventory. For now, please send in a question with the following information:

  • Handle name
  • Number of shirts
  • Sizes for each shirt (in case you’ll be getting some for other people)
  • Country of destination
  • Contact information (e-mail*, twitter, tumblr, any way I can reach you)

* - emails are blocked by default (a tumblr thing) so you can word it like so:
emailaddress_at_mailprovider_dot_com

Alternately, send all that info to halvanhalev☆gmail。com

QuestionI was wondering if you knew about the ongoing Horizon manga, and the new (though quite minor) information it gives about the setting? For example, in chapter 5 it's explained that Neshinbara and Naomasa are (sort of) inherited names (they are derived from Ii Naomasa and Sakakibara Yasumasa). Answer

Yes, actually, I do know about it - I’m the one translating it.

I don’t really try to publicize this stuff, so sorry if I caused a bit of confusion.

QuestionAh! Thank you for the translation of the second lecture! Keep up the good work! Answer

Thanks! I’ll be getting to the third and fourth sometime later on.

Much later on.

QuestionI would absolutely like one (1) Ariadust shirt if you do go through with having them made. What will the size options be? Answer

The maker’s got shirts from S all the way to XXL at least. Haven’t asked if they have anything beyond that.

Here.

I’m too lazy to make pictures, just watch the video while you read the translation side-by-side or something.

There are some lines that don’t make sense, but that’s because the original line really did not make any sense to me either. Sorry about that.

QuestionAny New Years resolutions? Answer

While I’d like to say, devote more time to this, or finish volume 2A and 2B, I doubt those will ever happen, so let’s just say nothing for now.
